Brooke Road Center acknowledges that in Rockford, Illinois we reside on the traditional, ancestral, and contemporary lands of the Winnebago (Ho-Chunk), Sauk, Shawnee, Potawatomi, Fox, Kickapoo, and Dakota Sioux people. 

We lament the sin and harm of colonization, genocide, land theft, broken treaties, and attempted erasure of the Indigenous People of this area.  We know that Indigenous People are still here and we commit to working for reparative justice, honoring the heritage of those whose land we have built on.
